Drug-filled advent calendar

A man in Germany has been arrested for having a Christmas advent calendar filled with marijuana.

The unnamed 21-year-old's flat was search by a drug-detecting dog named Lucky, who initially discovered a small quantity of marijuana on the kitchen table.

However, it quickly discovered a hidden stash in the calendar.

A statement from Munich police said: "Behind every little door on the calendar was a small amount of cannabis in a matchbox, wrapped up in a colourful bow. He said he had been given the calendar as a present."

He has since been released but may face charges.
