Extraterrestrial obsessives are convinced that beings from outer space come to Earth to assist the human race during tragic events and the new Netflix documentary 'Encounters' investigates a spaceship sighting in the aftermath of the 1986 nuclear disaster and a sudden drop in toxic radiation.

Dr. Jensine Andresen, a researcher of extraterrestrial intelligence and unidentified aerial phenomena, said: "Right at the height of the fire, many people observed a UFO come (and it) stayed for three minutes.

"At the height of the fire in Chernobyl, the reading was 3,000 milli-roentgen, which is a unit of ionising radiation."

She explained that the number had "apparently dropped to 800" once the UFO arrived.

Dr. Andresen said: "That seems like a conscious attempt to remediate the danger caused by the malfunction there."

However, the show does not include any testimonies from witnesses at Chernobyl.
