Barbie's Malibu Dream House is real

The iconic Mattel Mansion has been recreated in painstaking - and fully functioning - detail by the toy manufacturers ahead of the highly anticipated movie starring Margot Robbie next month.

The film hits the big screen on July 17, and it is available for two lucky guests to enjoy a one night stay from the same day.

In a press release, Airbnb said: "Located in sunny Malibu, the oceanfront mansion features panoramic views and serves as the perfect backdrop for Ken’s picture-plastic paradise. Fans will be able to request to book Ken’s bedroom in the Malibu DreamHouse for two individual one-night stays for up to two guests each on July 21 and July 22, 2023.

"All stays will be free of charge – because Ken couldn’t figure out how to put a price on Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse – after all, Ken’s thing is beach, not math!"

Guests will be able to "take a spin" through his wardrobe to find their ideal beach outfit, while they can even learn a line dance on his "outdoor disco dance floor", or relax by the infinity pool.

Fans will also get their "very own set of yellow-and-pink Impala skates and surfboards" to take home.

The stays are not a contest, with guests responsible for their own travel to and from Malibu.

On the listing, Ken said: "Welcome to my Kendom! While Barbie is away, she has handed over the keys to her Malibu DreamHouse this summer and my room could be yours for the night.

"I’ve added a few touches to bring some much-needed Kenergy to the newly renovated and iconic Malibu DreamHouse.

"Placed perfectly above the beach with panoramic views, this life-size toy pink mansion is a dream come true!"
