The grizzly creature appeared to be having so much fun as he ran away from the law enforcement officers, clambered up trees and dashed through fences after being spotted near the Los Angeles Mission College campus in Sylmar.

Teachers and students on the campus were urged to remain indoors while the mission was carried out.

The Department of Fish and Wildlife confirmed the bear, which was thought to be aged two or three and weighed 125lbs, was tranquilised and medically checked before being returned to Angeles National Forest unharmed.
