Birmingham is the Burns Night capital of the UK.

Sales of haggis and whisky have risen dramatically ahead of the Scottish supper, which celebrates the life and poetry of Robert Burns, according to sales figures released by Amazon.

Burns Night purchases per capita in the Midlands city have outsold those in Scotland itself: Glasgow and Edinburgh coming second and fourth respectively.

Ahead of the event, which takes place on Sunday January 25th, sales of haggis have increased by more than 220% in comparison to last year whilst books of poetry by Robert Burns are up by 380%.
