Pub erects tents to cut drink-driver numbers

A British pub has erected tents for people to sleep in to reduce the number of drink-drivers and they will even get a bed, a sleeping bag and a free breakfast.

''It's a community service and part of being a responsible landlady.''

The Drum and Monkey in Worcestershire, south west England, is offering its customers a free stay in the temporary accommodation, which can house up to 19 people and include beds and sleeping bags.

Landlady Lizzie Jennings has also vowed to provide a free breakfast.

She is quoted by BBC News as saying: ''It's for people who think they may have had one pint too many and don't want to risk it.
