New research shows that 43 per cent of people in the UK attempt to keep their image as stylish as a reality TV star like Kim Kardashian West or Kylie Jenner when they hit the gym and a third of people surveyed invest as much in maintaining their sports wardrobe as they do their fashion wardrobe.

Londoners came are the most style conscious, but when it comes to breaking a sweat, they fabour pounding the pavements running, whilst up in Scotland, cycling in the great outdoors is their sport of choice.

Despite this, a quarter of Brits are happy to be couch potatoes, stating they never participate in any exercise and this figure increased to over a third of people across both Wales and Northern Ireland.

Research was conducted by Hammerson, the owners of shopping centres including Bullring in Birmingham, Brent Cross in North London and Highcross in Leicester.

They found the average Brit hits the gym two and half times a week, with the South East claiming the title of fittest region.
