The theme park and zoo will open their doors to the world's first Jumanji-themed land are expecting deafening screams from thrillseekers when they try out their newest big ride, Mandrill Mayhem.

As a result, they have placed "in case of excessive screaming, break glass" boxes in various parts of Surrey, including Hampton Court village, outside The Bentall Centre in Kingston, at the summit of Box Hill and by Chessington South train station, with a set of ear defenders to protect against the squeals found inside.

Resort bosses said in a statement: “With inversions (a first at Chessington), turns, accelerations and reverses, and spiral after spiral, the NEW Mandrill Mayhem rollercoaster means scream levels are expected to reach new heights as many children (and grown-ups) experience being flipped upside down at 42miles per hour for the first time.

“We wanted to apologise in advance, for the noise people having the thrill of their lives may cause and should the screams become too much, offer up emergency ear defenders for use.”
