Farmer proposes using sheep

A man has proposed to his fiancée using sheep.

''This is how a farmer friend of mine just proposed on the South Downs @Eastbournenews #RomanceNotDead.(sic)''

The farmer, from the South Downs, in Southern England, requested his other half's hand in marriage by scrawling ''will ewe marry me'' on the woolly coats of his flock.

The man's romantic gesture was photographed by his friend, policeman Alex Murray, from Solihull in the West Midlands, who posted a picture of the proposal on his Twitter account.

He captioned the photo: ''This is how a farmer friend of mine just proposed on the South Downs @Eastbournenews #RomanceNotDead.(sic)''

The couple - who have decided to remain anonymous - have confirmed that they are now happily engaged, reports The Mirror newspaper.
