The Full Monty

The Full Monty

'The Full Monty' was almost named 'Eggs, Beans and Chippendales'.

Simon Beaufoy, the writer of the 1997 comedy film, initially suggested the Academy Award winning movie should adopt the breakfast-themed name.

The quirky fact is just one of the odd pieces of trivia which has been compiled by American Express in a new catalogue being released to celebrate the 58th BFI Film Festival which begins next month.

Other bizarre bits of useless information uncovered include the fact that Aardman Animations used 2.8 tons of plasticine to produce their 2005 feature-length film 'Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit', and that the word 'actually' is uttered 22 times in the 2003 romantic comedy 'Love Actually'.

Clare Stewart, Director of the BFI London Film Festival, said: ''These fun nuggets of British film trivia bring together new stories about films we know and love, and remind us of Britain's rich and diverse film history.''
