Giant bird on the loose

''They look nice but will go for your eyes with their beak.''

A giant bird is on the loose in England.

The six-foot tall South American rhea startled bird watchers after it escaped from its home last month and was spotted in the Hertfordshire countryside in southeast England.

The bird, which can run up to 40 miles-per-hour, is said to have 15 centimetre long claws, which can disembowel animals and even humans, according to experts.

The RSPCA issued a warning, saying: ''They look nice but will go for your eyes with their beak.''
