The nation has unveiled a list from the Registrar-General of Births, Deaths, and Marriages which details the names it has most frequently denied.

Prince tops the list, follows by Bishop and III, with other official or royal monikers making the list including King, Major, Royal, Princess, Prynce, Royale, Sovereign and Chief.

The list also features Messiah, Fanny, Isis, Justice, Kiing, Notoriety, Queen, Royalty, XIX and many more.

The list was shared on Reddit, with one user replying: "Meanwhile, just another day in nurseries across America. American parents would be out of luck in New Zealand for real."

Another person in the US added: "I work in early childhood education in a major US city, can confirm I've seen at least one of every one-word royalty name listed here, plus Reign on its own. Messiah is also extremely popular."

A third person argued that Justus and Isis are "both real, very old names", insisting: "Those should have been allowed in my opinion."
