Research has found that drastic weight loss helps porky men feel friskier and reduces erection problems, leaving them more satisfied in the bedroom because the extra flab had been holding them back between the sheets.

A university professor analysed 14 studies involving more than 500 men who had weight loss surgery. They scored an average of 19 per cent higher on the International Index of Erectile Function and their testosterone levels also shot up dramatically after shedding the pounds.

Researcher Dr. Magdalena Pisarska-Adamczyk, of Poland's Jagiellonian University, said: "From a biological standpoint, an increased percentage of fatty tissue leads to a general state of inflammation, which can impair blood flow into the penis."

The academic also suggested in the journal Obesity Surgery that fat men avoid sex because they are uncomfortable with their bodies.
