Man eats cannabis on toast

A man claims he eats cannabis on toast.

''He has it on soup or toast or just eats it straight out of the container. It may explain the potentially large amount there.''

Jonathan Champion managed to avoid prison after being caught with marijuana estimated to be worth between £12,000 and £38,000 by telling the court he intended to cook the drug in sour or serve it on toast.

The lawyer defending him explained how he'd been using cannabis as a makeshift painkiller following a motorbike accident when he was 17 and denied he'd been dealing it.

According to the Daily Star newspaper, Chris Nicholls told Truro Crown Court: ''The defendant eats the cannabis, he doesn't roll or smoke it.

''He has it on soup or toast or just eats it straight out of the container. It may explain the potentially large amount there.''

Sally Daulton, prosecuting, countered: ''The crown's position is that Mr. Champion was producing more than for his own use.''
