A supermarket delivered an octopus to a customer who'd ordered a loaf of bread.
''genuine Tesco substitution: Whole Octopus as an alternative to Walnut Loaf.''
A confused shopper was left bemused when he came across a whole octopus in his grocery delivery instead of the loaf of walnut bread he'd originally ordered.
The supermarket Tesco is often forced to substitute out-of-stock items with similar choices but customer John Goodger couldn't understand how an octopus was supposed to make up for his missing bread.
He wrote on Twitter: ''genuine Tesco substitution: Whole Octopus as an alternative to Walnut Loaf.''
Upon finding that John's £1.50 walnut loaf was unavailable, the personal shopper appears to have tried to cheer him up by sending him the tentacled creature.
However, following his complaint Tesco sent a tweet saying they were sorry and promising that he'd be refunded ''a couple of squid''.
