Pope Pius XII covered up a UFO crash in Italy
Former US intelligence officer David Grusch has claimed that the Vatican was involved in concealing the first UFO that crash-landed on Earth 90 years ago in Italy.
Grusch suggested that the Pope - who reigned from 1939 until his death in 1958 - acted as a go-between during World War II to make sure that the craft was moved from Italy to the United States.
The former intelligence officer - who alleges that the US Government secretly kept debris from crashed UFOs - said: "1933 was the first recovery in Europe - in Magenta, Italy. They recovered a partially intact vehicle and the Italian government moved it to a secure airbase in Italy until around 1944-1945.
"The Pope back-channelled that and told the Americans what the Italians had and we ended up scooping it."
Asked if the Catholic Church was aware of "non-human" existence on Earth, Grusch replied: "Certainly."
