Pranksters erect fake border post

''give everyone a laugh and a break from the ever-increasing heat of the debate''

A group of pranksters have erected a fake Scottish border post.

In a bid to lighten the mood of the impending Scottish referendum, prankster Jon Lee Parker, with both Scottish and English friends, set up a fake passport control and checkpoint, the Metro newspaper reports.

The ultimate purpose of the prank was to momentarily distract and poke fun at the situation. Jon has no side taken in the vote and simply hoped to unite both England and Scotland in managing to, as Jon put it ''give everyone a laugh and a break from the ever-increasing heat of the debate''.

As it stands the jury is still out as to whether such a thing will come into action, but Ed Miliband has said border guards may be considered.
