A teenager stabbed a ''ballistic'' shark with a spear.
Sam Smith, 17, was fishing in Sydney, Australia when the vicious creature jumped out of the water and bit him on his hand, wrist and fingers as he attempted to scare it off.
His friend Luke Sisinni told the Ulladulla Times newspaper: ''He said it spun around and started coming for him, so he stabbed it with his spear to try and scare it off, but it just went ballistic and bit him.''
Sam was later treated by paramedics for lacerations on his wrist and fingers before being airlifted to hospital for specialist treatment.
