A tortoise has been given a brand new shell made by a 3D printer.

The animal - who resides at Canyon Critter Reptile Rescue in Colorado, United States - had a shell which was damaged through bad nutrition, the Metro newspaper reports.
But student Roger Henry came to the rescue, creating the tortoise a new - and bright red - shell to avoid risks of infection and injury.
He said: ''I heard this tortoise was damaged, needed some help and it seemed like the right thing to do.''
