Woman won't pay tax because of ghost

A woman is refusing to pay her taxes because she insists a ghost is living in her spare room.

''My mum won't come here any more. Neighbours walk past me and make the sign of the cross.''

Lorna McDonald claims she's being terrorised by a spirit and has called in priests to exorcise the demon which is apparently residing empty bedroom.

She believes she shouldn't have to pay extra tax for the room, under the government's under-occupancy of bedrooms rules, because of the uninvited guest.

She told the Daily Star newspaper: ''My daughter moved out about nine months ago because she was petrified.

''My mum won't come here any more. Neighbours walk past me and make the sign of the cross.''
