Manyata Dutt has denied claims that she causes problems for her husband, Sanjay Dutt, Times of India reports.
Manyata has been blamed by some for the fall out between Sanjay and his sisters but she insists she has not interfered. She says she had nothing to do with the actors criticism of his sister Priya and her decision not to take husband Owen Roncon's surname after they married.
Sanjay said: "Girls after marriage must assume their new surname.
"That's a message not just to my sisters, but to all girls who hang on to their parents' surname. It's become fashionable these days. But I strongly feel that doing so disrespects the person they've married."
Manyata said she believes her husband's relationship with his sisters is private and she also put to rest rumours that she stopped him helping other family members financially.
