Collision Force
Collision Force is a story that’s near and dear to my heart. I LOVE Andi and Cole, almost more than any other couple I have ever written! Cole’s an alpha male FBI agent who has tons of names in his little black book. He’s stubborn, and…well, HOT. Andi is a widowed single mum police detective with an attitude and temper of her own. They clash a lot and were a blast to get together. They have to get along to solve their case, and fall in love along the way. J
You have always wanted to be a writer, so tell us about when you first took a shine to it?
Oh, I’ve been writing since I was very young. First poetry when I was seven or eight (even had a few published in the local newspaper) and then when I was about fourteen I wrote my first novel. I wrote fanfic for a while from my favourite fantasy series before I created my own fantasy world. I have two series going right now including my romantic suspense series, Crossing Forces. Collision Force is the first novel from it.
You are originally from Ohio but moved to Texas as soon as you could, why was this?
I love Texas! I moved down here almost thirteen years ago, and I love not having a “real” winter. Living in the South is awesome!
How much has your degree in Criminal Justice aided your writing?
Well, I have a law enforcement background, so in my romantic suspense writings what I studied in college has most definitely helped. But I also work in a court, and work closely with two police departments, so when I have questions, it’s nice I have someone close to ask.
You work with kids when you are not writing, can you tell us a bit more about this?
I actually have two jobs. (3 if you include writing) I am the Juvenile Case Manager for two Municipal Courts where I work with juvenile offenders. I also work at a Shelter for teens, where I hang out with them, talk to them, even council them once in a while. I love everything I do, especially writing.
The book has been compared to Janet Evanovich and Colleen Thompson, so how does this make you feel and have you read their work?
Flattered, frankly. This question made me go “wow.” They are both fantastic authors.
How important is it to you to share your stories with the world?
Very important to me. There’s a lot of cool things in my head! I LOVE to write, complete a story and get it out there for people to check out. Hopefully they love my characters as much as I do.
Working with kids, do you ever think you will write something for them in future?
Definitely. I actually have a completed YA about teen pregnancy. It needs editing. When I get there, I will see about getting it published.
Can you tell us more about the series Crossing Forces?
Crossing Forces series is about cops and fed meeting, working together and falling in love. They don’t always get along, but they always fight hard and play hard. And of course, the guys are swoon-worthy!
What is next for you?
I just finished the second book in this series, so now…it’s on to book three!
