1. We are in the 21st century. Unless you are writing about woman being dominated in other centuries, you'd better look around and see what they have done.

2. Woman are the bulk of our readership. Better make them strong and enduring to the reader, even if they are the antagonist.

3. The lines between the protagonists and antagonists have turned somewhat gray. Women characters have grayed right along with them.

4. Women characters are more calculating than men. They consider all the angles before they rush into a situation. Most men characters act first and ask questions later.

5. I believe the reader, whether man or woman, enjoy strong woman characters. We are so inundated by the James Bond type characters in the movies, that having woman characters of strength seems to be a welcome change. Television dramas are a good example of how the playing field is changing.

6. Strong women characters in novels written by men, are becoming the standard.

7. For so long, if a woman was to be a strong character, she had to be cold and without feeling. Now the woman can actually be the dominate character and not have to play the game from the man's point of view.

8. Women are just plain more interesting than men.

9. Women can be more diabolical than men.

10. I'm married to one.
