I live near Sting

I'm lucky enough to live in the beautiful Woodford Valley, a stone's throw away from Sting's country pad at Wilsford-Cum-Lake. I've only seen him once - I need to go and ask to borrow some sugar.

I'm allergic to kiwi fruit, bananas and prawns

I love all three of these but they hate me! I don't gasp for air or anything if I eat them, but they make me red, sweaty and sick.

I auditioned for The X-Factor

I love to sing and thought I would give it a go back in 2008. I didn't make it to judges' houses but it was a fun experience that led me into appearing on ITV1's Who Dares Sings!

I love US drama shows

I'm a sucker for American drama. I watch Homeland, Person of Interest, Blue Bloods, Blindspot, Chicago Fire/Med/P.D. anything and everything with action in it. Maybe I'll write an action thriller book one day…

I have small feet

I'm a UK Size 4 (US 6.5 EU 37) and my children now have the same size feet as me and they are only ten and eight years old. I get to borrow their shoes and they get to tell me mine aren't trendy enough for them!

I love country music

I grew up listening to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers but now I'm more into Sam Hunt and Old Dominion. I visit the Country 2 Country Festival at the O2 in London every year and I visited Nashville in April!

My favourite food is mashed potato

I will eat this with anything and everything. What's not to love?

I used to work as a Probate paralegal

Before I started writing full-time I worked for a firm of solicitors as a Probate paralegal writing Wills and dealing with the administration of estates. A world away from writing hot heroes and feel-good reads!

I'm ambidextrous

I write with my right hand but do most other manual things with my left - like opening bottles etc.

I'm obsessed with Corfu

I've been going to this jewel of a Greek island since 2003 and visit at least twice a year. The blue sky, soft sand and hot climate is the perfect recipe for relaxation… and inspiration for my books of course!
