Jon Voight - who has a fractured relationship with his famous daughter - admitted he was "very sad" to hear about the demise of her third marriage, and despite speculation about a mystery "incident" that caused her to call time on their 12-year relationship, he insists he has no idea what happened.

He told Inside Edition: "It's very sad. Something very serious must have happened for Angie to make a decision like this.

"I don't know what it is. It's a sad thing. Say a little prayer."

The 'Midnight Cowboy' star feels very "concerned" for the 'Changeling' actress and the former couple's six children, so is hoping to get chance to see them and make sure they are all doing OK.

He added: "I am concerned for Angie and the children and hopefully I will be seeing them very soon."

The 77-year-old star was not in attendance when his daughter and Brad tied the knot in 2014.

Whilst Angelina didn't have too close a relationship with her father, she was incredibly close to her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who tragically passed away from breast cancer in 2007.
