All of them have taken vocational qualifications.

Over 3,250,000 vocational qualifications were awarded in the UK last year according to figures released today to mark the first Vocational Qualifications Day (VQ Day).

The number of people taking VQ’s has gone up 8.3% compared to the year before and appears to be down to the fact that more bosses and employers are demanding such qualifications to meet the skills needed in the economy.

The top 5 vocational subjects being taken are in healthcare, retail, business, construction and engineering, but there are plenty of other options. Tony Adams, Mick McCarthy, Glen Roeder have all had to gain a VQ as all would-be football managers now have to gain a pro-licence – a form of vocational qualification.
