The Ivory Coast international has admitted to driving at 101mph along the M6 motorway in his Porsche 911 on May 20, before being stopped by traffic cops on the northbound carriageway in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs.

Gwyn Lewis, Toure's lawyer, entered a guilty plea on behalf of the 32-year-old midfielder at Cannock Magistrates Court on Friday, but denied another charge of speeding at 124pmh just six minutes later. The prosecution also dropped two additional charges relating to a lack of insurance.

"The events took place within six minutes of each other. There were two police officers involved, and one witness who will need to be at the trial," said Lewis.

"I would ask that you wait until the outcome of the 124mph offence, because one might be points, the other disqualification."

Toure, who owns a number of luxury cars including a £100,000 Porsche Cayenne, £280,000 Mercedes Brabus and a £110,000 Bentley GT, could be slapped with a driving ban for the 101mph offence when he attends trial at Burton-upon-Trent Magistrates Court on December 3.
