The 28-year-old actress, who is on the road to recovery after being placed under her mother Lynne's care via a temporary conservatorship for the second time in October, is reportedly eager to stage a high profile come-back next year.

A source said: "She is in negotiations with ABC to do 'Dancing With the Stars' next year. They think Amanda has a wonderful underdog story and 'DWTS' is the perfect forum for her to prove she can entertain while being vulnerable at the same time."

The blonde beauty, who has sought treatment at a psychiatric facility, is eager to prove that she is getting her life back on track.

The source told US OK! magazine: "People think she's still a mess, but that's no longer the case. 'DWTS' is the perfect opportunity for her to prove to her friends, family and fans that she's back in control of her life."

The 'Easy A' star, who shot to fame on Nickelodeon as a child, is also interested in the show because she has been offered a lot of money.

The insider said: "It's not unheard of for big names to make almost $300,000 for competing. It's hard to turn down a pay cheque like that for what is essentially a brilliant PR stunt."
