Amy Schumer's mother left her husband for her best friend's dad.

The 'Trainwreck' star has recalled when she was 13 and she found out her mother Sandra would be leaving her father so she could be with family friend Lou.
Writing in her book 'The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo', she shared: "One day after school I came home and saw my mother slumped on the couch. She'd clearly been crying hard. I am leaving your father. Lou and I have fallen in love with each other ... I was a child, new to my teens, and she was treating me like a seasoned psychiatrist."
When it comes to her own love life, the 35-year-old actress and comedienne is happy with her boyfriend Ben Hanisch and has revealed they first met on an online dating app.
She shared: "We sent each other very simple hellos and short, funny messages ... When we met, we smiled at each other and in that moment, everything felt right."
However, things weren't always so good for Amy when it came to relationships as she revealed she was physically and emotionally abused by a former boyfriend in her early 20s.
She recalled: "He grabbed a huge butcher knife from a drawer. And that's when I was sure he was going to kill me. It can happen to anyone. You're not alone if it's happening to you, and you're not exempt if it hasn't happened to you yet."
