Ashley Roberts has revealed that she loves the 'dress-up' side of her career.

Roberts shot to fame as part of the Pussycat Dolls, but left the band to pursue a solo career.

Roberts says she has been dancing and wearing costumes her whole life, and it is something that she still enjoys today.

Speaking to FHM magazine, Roberts said: "I just love that I get to play dress-up for a living. It's kind of awesome, isn't it?

"Growing up dancing and knowing how to move my body - I enjoy that and I like that I can express that. I've been dancing and wearing costumes my whole life, so there's that sexiness to who I am that I enjoy.

"There's a part of me that always has the little bit of the sassy, sexiness in her. That's probably why I ended up with The Pussycat Dolls in the first place."

Butterfly Effect marked the debut solo album for Roberts earlier this year, as she moved on from her time in Pussycat Dolls.

As well as working on solo material, we have also seen Roberts take to the small screen with the likes of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! and Saturday Night Takeaway.

The singer has had to repeatedly fight off reports that she has become a little too close to Declan Donnelly.

She said: "I have never snogged Dec. We're friends. It's funny because he's been in a relationship for a while now but people still ask. I'm like, 'I'm not a homewrecker!'"
