Bobby Brown wants to remember his "love" for his "baby girl" Bobbi Kristina Brown on what would have been her 23rd birthday rather than focus on the release of her autopsy report.

The 47-year-old R&B singer has released a statement today (04.03.16), following the news Bobbi died from a combination of drug intoxication and drowning, asking for his fans' prayers as he remembers his daughter on what is an upsetting day for him.

Bobby - who had his daughter with his late ex-wife Whitney Houston - stated: "First and foremost, 23 years ago today, Bobbi Kristina was born. Krissy will always live in my heart and soul. I love my baby girl. "For news affiliates to seek and obtain my daughter's autopsy report, before anyone has been brought to justice for her death is mind blowing to me. Please pray for my family."

The forensic investigation into the 22-year-old star's death last July - almost six months after she was found unresponsive in a bath - had initially been kept secret because of possible foul play and an ongoing criminal investigation.

But the cause of death can be revealed after Fulton County Superior Court Judge Henry Newkirk in Atlanta, Georgia, ordered the documents be unsealed.

However, Bobbi Kristina's family are still determined to get justice for her.

Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend Nick Gordon has been accused by her estate of playing a part in "rendering her unconscious" by plying her with a "toxic cocktail".

The singer's co-conservator Bedelia Hargrove has filed a $10 million wrongful death lawsuit against Nick, who shared a home with the deceased beauty and was the person who discovered her unconscious in a bathtub in January 2015.

Nick has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing, has not been charged with a crime and has filed to have the suit dismissed. His lawyers have branded it "slanderous and meritless" and insist it contains "several unsupported, untrue, criminal accusations".

Bobby's lawyer Christopher Brown - of Brown & Rosen LLC - said in a statement: "Yesterday we were informed that two news affiliates were granted access to the autopsy of Bobbi Kristina Brown. While this action is unsettling, we will continue in our efforts in the civil lawsuit and the criminal investigation.

"Bobby Brown has had to be strong and mourn his loved ones in a fashion that is foreign to most people. So public, so raw, with apparently no end in sight. Hopefully public indictments and prosecution will lead to private healing and closure for Bobby Brown and his family."
