The 'Piece of Me' hitmaker - who has two marriages and one broken engagement behind her - still believes in love despite going through some "horrible relationships".

She said: "Unfortunately, I am a hopeless romantic.

"I've been through horrible relationships, but unfortunately I still believe in love and I think you should protect your heart and stuff like that, but I am a hopeless romantic. I believe in love."

And one place the 34-year-old singer - who splits her time between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, where she has a residency at Planet Hollywood - won't be meeting a man is at nightclubs as she isn't the "party animal" type and is a creature of habit.

Speaking on Australian radio show Rove and Sam on Hit 104.1, she added: "I'm very boring. I'm 34-years-old so I don't really like clubs. My show is loud enough so when I go to clubs my ears are so sensitive that I just want to go run and hide somewhere! I'm not really a party animal. I like to work out, I like a routine and I'm kinda simple.

"I eat almost the same thing every day - Caesar salad - and I'm pretty healthy. There are fun places and things to do in Vegas, but it's not really my thing. I'm not a party girl."

Meanwhile, Britney's ex-husband Kevin Federline - with whom she has sons Jayden, nine, and Preston, 10 - previously claimed their marriage was "overwhelming".

He said: "That was a whole different lifestyle than I ever imagined. I mean, just getting around from place to place and having 20 people follow you all day long - your whole life kind of being told through somebody else's eyes. Everybody wants to put their own spin on it. We like, were caught right in the midst of that whole thing. It was so crazy. I look back at it and it's like, at times it was so overwhelming.

"That time of my life, there's so many different, like, pieces missing because of everything that was going on. That was at the, like, height of everything and you're thrown into this thing and you're thrown into that thing and the in-between stuff. I know it happened. I know why it happened. That's pretty much all that I'm going to say."
