Producers on the MTV programme were reportedly keen to head to Colorado or Montana and film the new series of the show in one house where the entire cast would stay, similar to the set up on 'Big Brother' and 'Jersey Shore: Family Vacation', due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the 37-year-old actor wouldn't agree to leave California.

Sources told TMZ that Brody's representatives began discussions with the network early in August and insisted he would only film in LA because the show's entire premise is based around the cast's lives in the city, not in a random location elsewhere in America.

He also told the network he would be willing to wait to resume production on season two - which was shut down after just three episodes because of the Covid-19 pandemic - until a vaccine for the virus is found.

MTV continued asking Brody to change his mind, but he refused, with the network eventually agreeing to his demands because they need him for the show.

According to the outlet, production on season two is now set to resume in Los Angeles within the next two to four weeks.

However, the reality star has yet to officially sign on for the season, though it is expected to be just a matter of time until he does.

If Brody does agree to appear in the new series, it could show him looking for love as last month his three-month relationship with Briana Jungwirth - who has four-year-old son Freddie with One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson - came to an end.

According to reports, the pair decided to go their separate ways after the "romance fizzled out" between them, which is believed to be down to things "getting too serious too fast".
