The 59-year-old actress has reprised her iconic role for new blockbuster 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and although she's used to seeing her likeness as her alter ego emblazoned on various products she never expected the intergalactic rebel fighter to inspire a type of marijuana.

Discussing the weirdest thing she's ever seen her face used to promote at a press conference for 'The Force Awakens' in London on Thursday morning (17.12.15), Carrie said: "A shampoo bottle, because you can twist your off your own head!"

Prompting laughs from the assembled media, which included BANG Showbiz, she then added: "And there's a marijuana strain named after Princess Leia. I heard about that from a friend!"

Meanwhile, Carrie's co-star Daisy Ridley - who plays lead character Rey - is excited about seeing her face on a bus, but it hasn't happened yet.

Speaking at the same event, she said: "I haven't seen my face on a bus yet. It's funny because when I was working in a pub two years ago I used to watch buses drive past with posters on and I would be like, 'Oh that would be really cool.'

"I spoke to John (Boyega) the other day and was like, 'I can wait - I hope I'm on a bus.' But I've not seen myself on a bus yet."

John - who portrays Finn - admits it was a "strange" but "proud" experience for him when he and the rest of the cast travelled to Tokyo, Japan, and he saw his face everywhere.

He recalled: "The whole experience for me in terms of the merchandising and seeing my face everywhere is very strange. We recently went to Tokyo and the first thing I saw was a 7-Eleven (store) with Daisy's face, my face and BB-8. And it's like I'm in Tokyo, I've never been here in my life and I've got my image here and Daisy's it's quite shocking for us two Londoners - but it's a very proud moment."
