The 'My Heart Will Go On' hitmaker was left devastated when her beloved spouse died of cancer in January and has said she is comforted by the fact her children - René-Charles, 15, and five-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson, whom she had with René - are doing well.

She said: "I am really doing well. Like I said on stage tonight, I can't remember what I said on stage exactly but I guess if I am fine, my kids are fine and if my kids are fine, I am fine. That is the most important thing. My children are doing really well and I am doing really well."

The 48-year-old star admits she's had to be brave and "stand strong" for her family because René - who was Celine's manager - played such an important part in her career and her children's lives.

She told ET Canada: "I have to stand strong for today and for my kids and myself for what is to come, for tomorrow, and I don't know Rene gave everything to me. Wonderful children on top of the rest of my journey through the business. Whether I want to be on stage or not I feel so fulfilled of love still. I still feel him very much, I cope pretty well with his new life, to be honest with you."

And while she misses René dearly, she is glad he is no longer suffering.

Speaking after her first of several performances in Montreal, Canada, she said: "I loved him too much to see him suffer the way he did the last three years, so I am very grateful that this part of his life is over with.

"I am ecstatic to be home and I could have talked about the journey I am having in Montreal, it's just amazing."

Meanwhile, Celine reflected on her concert and had a little joke about wearing nightwear on stage.

She laughed: "I can still not believe that through the whole show people were standing up and so high. I was like, I don't know how I was going to sleep. I try to put a PJ on to kind of to make myself comfortable, to get me to slow down with my energy.

"I've always been so welcomed home, every time, but this was big."
