The 'Think Twice' hitmaker - who returned to her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino on February 23 for the first time since the death of her beloved husband René Angelil in January - praised her "amazing" audiences for helping her get back to her best as she prepared for a break from the shows.

Posting a picture of herself backstage, she wrote on Instagram: "Thanks to my fans and to the amazing Colosseum public, that night after night gave me the energy to go on and make a show that René would be proud of."

One person in the audience for Celine's show this weekend was Selena Gomez.

The 23-year-old singer shared a number of photos and videos on her Snapchat account of herself and her pals at the gig, including clips of the group buying and wearing Dion T-shirts and watching and singing along at the concert.

The 'My Heart Will Go On' hitmaker - who has sons Rene-Charles, 15, and five-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy - will now take a break from her residency until May 17.

When she returned to the stage last month, Celine paid tribute to her husband, who died of cancer aged 73.

She told her audience: "Through my life I only had eyes for my husband, who sat out here night after night. People thought that I was looking at him but I didn't need to because every time I closed my eyes, I felt René on stage with me - whether he was seated in his seat right there, in the balcony, backstage, or at home with the kids. He's always been on stage with me and nothing will ever change that.

"I might not hear his voice yet, but I talk to him, I think of him all the time. I feel and I know he hears me, one way or another. I know he will give me a sign for his approval or not. And now I can feel that he is telling me to zip it and start singing."
