The 37-year-old actor, who has made no secret of his desire to play the James Bond in the future, partied with other VIP guests, including Thom Evans, John Newman, Camilla Kerslake, Samantha Barks and Bip Ling, at a lavish Halloween bash at Loulou's in London, hosted by Belvedere Vodka and Aston Martin, before and after watching the new film at the Curzon cinema in Mayfair.

A source said the guests enjoyed an elegant evening of music, canapés and Belvedere Vodka martinis.

The 'Agent Carter' star previously admitted he "would just do anything" to take over the secret agent role from Daniel Craig when he steps down from the franchise.

He told the MailOnline last year: "What I do think is that the Bond franchise makes incredibly good choices about the actor who is going to play Bond.

"I've worked with two Bonds, as I did a play with Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan was in 'Mamma Mia!' I only recently found myself watching the opening scenes to 'Skyfall,' which are just brilliant. I don't think any actor could ever say no to playing Bond. The films are brilliant and even watching them is a totally joyous experience. You try to think about it seriously.

"I've heard Daniel talking about how it now affects his chances of playing more independent roles, but the reality is that your inner child would just do anything to play Bond."
