The 43-year-old actor - who has Olivia, ten, Joshua, eight, Annabel, six, and Emilia, four, with his wife Kimberly - has moved from Los Angeles to the Lone Star State after a turbulent ten-month period in his life, which included his wife suffering "two late-term pregnancy losses".

James - who previously appeared on 'Dancing with the Stars' - wrote on Instagram: "And... we’ve landed. In the last ten months, we’ve had two late-term pregnancy losses, each of which put @vanderkimberly in the hospital, we spent Christmas break thinking she had a tumor (the doctor was wrong, thank god), I was prematurely booted off a reality dancing show I was favored to win in front of the whole world, and my mom died. And a shut-down. All of that led to some drastic changes in our lives, and dreams, and priorities... and landed us here. Overflowing with profound gratitude today. (sic)"

James announced that he and his family were leaving Los Angeles back in September, posting several photos of their empty house in Beverly Hills.

At the time, the actor - who is best known for playing Dawson Leery in 'Dawson's Creek' - explained that they were heading off on an "adventure".

He shared: "Sometimes a fuller life begins with an empty house. Leaving Los Angeles incredibly grateful for all the friends and memories we’ve made here. Onto the next big adventure! (sic)"

After that, the family embarked on a weeks-long road trip, which included heading to the Grand Canyon.

In an Instagram post, James wrote: "I visited #GrandCanyon when I was a kid. And despite the chaos of the past thirty years... she’s still there. Unchanged by all the stupid stuff we’ve been up to. Was reminded today just how small we are, and how temporary our time here is. #MakeItCount (sic)"
