• She was born on January 16 1974 in London, England.

• Her modelling career began when she was 14 after she was spotted by a modelling scout in JFK airport, New York. She was en route home after a holiday in Barbados.

• In 1992 Moss went to America to meet the casting director of Calvin Klein's advertising campaign. She got the job instantly and appeared in magazines and on billboards a year later. The Calvin Klein contract was reportedly worth £1.2 million.

• She dated Johnny Depp from 1994-1998.
