Jason Donovan leaves the responsibility of cooking Christmas dinner to his wife.

Jason Donovan has revealed he leaves Christmas cooking to his wife because he doesn't have the "patience" to prepare the festive meal.

The 45-year-old actor, who stars as Parson Nathaniel in Jeff Wayne's musical take on 'The War of the Worlds', has confessed that he doesn't get involved in cooking the traditional Christmas turkey because he doesn't have the "patience".

Talking to FemaleFirst exclusively Donovan says, "I don't have the patience for it, I've got too many other things to worry about."

Although Jason won't be spending much time in the kitchen, he has admitted that he's looking forward to having some time off.

He said: "It's always nice to throw a log on the fire, talk and spend some downtime with the kids rather than me sort of thinking about work and stuff like that."

Jason and wife Angela Malloch have three kids, 13-year-old Jemma, 11-year-old Zach and two-year-old Molly and he admits that his excitement usually exceeds theirs on Christmas morning.

He told us, "I've got a young two-year-old, so you know it's normally a very early wake-up-call on Christmas Day, which slightly gets me annoyed because we don't get to bed 'til late."

Jason does say though that he has no intentionof jumping on the bandwagon and making any outlandish New Year's resolutions in 2014.

"I'm always making resolutions, I'm trying to always improve my ability to stay on this planet for as long as I can."
