A man has filed legal documentation claiming that he's the son of world-renowned rapper and Beyonce's husband, Jay-Z.

Rymir Satterthwaite claims his mother and the rapper hooked up in the early 1990s, but has been unable to prove that Jay's his father because any efforts to do so have been blocked.

According to the civil lawsuit written by the 21-year-old's legal guardian Lillie Coley, Jay submitted fraudulent information to the court to quash the paternity claim - that information is believed to be a fake address.

Speaking to the New York Daily News newspaper about the five year battle, Lillie said: "Right now I can't talk to you about it. We plan to talk to the public soon.

"All this attention caught us off guard. We didn't expect someone to leak it to the press. We weren't expecting this."

Court papers show that Wanda Satterthwaite first named Jay as her son's possible father after Robert Graves - the man she first believed to be Rymir's father - undertook a DNA test showing he had no biological connection to her son.

Wanda made a bid to make Jay submit a DNA test but he won a court battle which argued that was no "extraordinary cause" involved.

This comes after claims in 2011 which said he fathered a child with Shenelle Scott, but they were dismissed at the time as "ridiculous rumours".
