In December, Hayley Erbert was forced to undergo emergency surgery on her skull, and Julianne has now revealed how she supported her brother Derek throughout the crisis.

The 35-year-old dancer told E! News: "The more you can trust yourself and know you're in a secure place, then you can have the capacity for others.

"With their situation, being able to be a very stable force was needed—and I think appreciated because I could get the things done that they weren't thinking about."

Julianne's self-care plan actually helped her to show "compassion and empathy" for her family.

She shared: "We only have ourselves at the end of the day, and the more you can connect to yourself, the more you can relate and have compassion and empathy for the people around you."

Asked how she approaches self-care, Julianne replied: "For me, working out and Kinrgy [Juliane's fitness platform] are about finding strength and inner peace. No matter the hurricane, I can be in the eye of the storm, and handle anything."

Hayley required an emergency craniectomy last year to treat a cranial haematoma. And in December, she had another operation to replace a portion of her skull which was removed during the first procedure.

Derek recently hailed his wife as an "absolute miracle" following her surgery.

During an appearance on 'The Jennifer Hudson Show', Derek shared: "She is doing amazing. She is an absolute miracle, miraculous.

"It's been a rollercoaster. It's been wild but I just have to say again, thank you to everyone who has been so supportive and so loving. It really truly mean the world to us, it really does."
