Justin Bieber's security guards have been accused of assaulting a photographer.

The 'Baby' hitmaker was reportedly skateboarding in the car park of The Hit Factory studios Miami when a member of the paparazzi began photographing him, TMZ reports.

When the bodyguards noticed what the journalist was doing, the alleged victim told police two of his guards rushed him while another began choking him before they snatched his camera and took the memory card holding the images.

Miami-Dade Police Detective Roy Rutland confirmed officers responded to a report of an assault taking place outside The Hit Factory on 149th Street and took a statement from the snapper.

Rutland told website Gossip Extra: "The officer concluded that what occurred may have been a simple battery. Now, the photographer can pursue this with the state attorney's office if he chooses."

The 19-year-old pop star has been in Miami since last weekend and has been staying at the SLS Hotel South Beach.

Bieber was recently being investigated for alleged battery of his neighbour in Calabasas, California, who claims Justin turned violent after the pair argued outside their properties.

But sources claimed the neighbour provoked Justin, walking up to his property to scream and complain about the parties his friends were throwing while he was away on tour.
