Keith Urban's father has "only got a few weeks" to live.

The country singer has revealed his father, Robert, is now being cared for at a hospice and admits it is a "very strange time" as he toured his new exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame
He said: "He's probably only got a few weeks, if that. I've just been dealing with that the last couple of days. This has all come at a very strange time where it's typical of a career that has extreme highs and extreme lows all often at the exact same time.
"So [the exhibit] is bittersweet a little bit because [my dad] is the catalyst for all of this. My dad is the catalyst for me living in America."
And despite preparing himself for the tragic death of his father, the 48-year-old star - who is married to Nicole Kidman - has only good memories and credits him for igniting his passion for music.
He told The Tennessean: "I remember saying to my dad, 'Oh, what's the single off this album?'" recalled Urban. "And he said, 'I don't know. I haven't heard anything off it.' And I said, 'Well, how do you know it's going to be good?' And he said, 'It's Don Williams.'
"And it hit me in such a way that I thought, 'Oh, I'd love to make records where people know it's going to be solid and they go out and get it.' So I want to thank them for starting me on this journey."
