The ‘Piece By Piece’ hitmaker will be hosting at least two more seasons of her daytime talk show, ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’, for NBCUniversal, after the company announced on Tuesday (15.12.20) they have decided to renew the hit syndicated series until at least 2023.

In a statement, Tracie Wilson, executive vice president of NBCU Syndication Studios, said: “One ray of sunshine in this wildly unpredictable year is that we get to continue to deliver to stations and fans a show that brings people together. This wouldn’t be possible without the heart and humor of the talented and dedicated Kelly Clarkson and our production team, led by the incomparable Alex Duda, both of whom are masters of storytelling. It’s easy to see why Emmy voters, critics and viewers have become such loyal fans of the show.”

Kelly’s show debuted last year as the highest-rated new talk show in seven years, with the first season averaging 1.6 million viewers.

The show currently airs in 100 percent of the US on more than 200 stations, and the upcoming new seasons have already been sold in 75 percent of the country.

Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations, added in another statement: “‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ is one of the most optimistic success stories in first-run syndication. Kelly is a beloved performer and host with deep roots at NBC and we are delighted to have her continue to be a very important and treasured part of our stations’ programming.”

Earlier this year, Kelly began hosting her talk show from her home, after the coronavirus pandemic made it impossible for her to return to the studio.

However, she marked her return to the show’s Universal set when the second season began airing in September.
