Kerry Katona is getting a new pet dog.

The 40-year-old star will be welcoming a puppy named Thor into her household in a few months time but he will be undergoing specialist training for the next few months before he can join the family.
Writing in her New! magazine column, Kerry revealed: "We've got our new Rottweiler puppy from Ambassador Protection Dogs. He was originally called Bentley but we're changing his name to Thor.
"He's currently getting trained because he's going to be a protection dog. We spent a couple of days with him last week to get to know him. We're not getting him properly until August, so we wanted to bond with him as a puppy."
But Kerry – who is engaged to Ryan Mahoney – admitted that their other dog Princess wasn't as pleased with the new arrival.
The Atomic Kitten star explained: "Our other Rottweiler, Princess, went into a proper mood with us about it – bless her. But I'm sure once they're living together it will be absolutely fine."
Kerry - who has daughters Molly, 19, and Lilly-Sue, 18, with Brian McFadden, Heidi, 14, and Max, 13, with Mark Croft, and six-year-old DJ with the late George Kay – recently mourned her previous dog Paddy on the first anniversary of his death.
She said: "It's been a year since we lost our dog Paddy - I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. It feels like yesterday when we sent him over the rainbow bridge. He was a huge part of our family.
"We spent the day reminiscing and looking back at pictures of him, and then we went for a walk with our other two dogs. He was 18, so he was a really old dog. He had a great life, but we miss him loads."
