Kim Kardashian West needed to know Kris Jenner was "emotionally OK" before backing Bruce Jenner's decision to transition to a woman.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star reportedly had a "long conversation" with her mother after her stepfather - who split from Kris in 2013 after 22 years of marriage - shared his plans with the family and now she is backing the former Olympian wholeheartedly.
A source told the new issue of People magazine: "Bruce told them everything - where things stood, what his plans were for the future, and what everyone could expect. Everyone basically knew what was up, but it was still a shock to hear it outlined so explicitly.
"They all came all around pretty quickly, but each of them had to process it in their own way. Kim went to Kris and asked her how she felt. They had a very long conversation about it.
"Once Kim was satisfied that Kris was emotionally OK, she was able to give Bruce her unconditional support."
And Kim's husband Kanye West - with who she has 18-month-old daughter North - has also offered his support to Bruce.
The source added: "[Kanye] is totally fine with it. He believes in live and let live, and he took it all in stride. He and Kim are just trying to show Bruce love and acceptance - complete acceptance."
However, Kourtney Kardashian's long-term partner Scott Disick reportedly "didn't react very well" at first, but "is now on board."
And it has also been claimed the couple are "struggling" with how to tell the news of Bruce's transition to their children Mason, five, Penelope, two, and seven-week-old Reign.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "The whole family is supportive of Bruce's transition. But Scott thinks it is going to be a little weird to have to explain to the kids what is going on.
"They are too young to understand. As of right now, Bruce is 'Pop-Pop' to Mason and they do not know how they are going to tell Mason Bruce is going to now be a grandma.
"Penelope is at that age where she will not remember Bruce as a man and the same thing with Reign. But Mason is so inquisitive and nothing gets by him."
