Kit Harington

Kit Harington has described relationships as ‘difficult.’

Harington is one of the most in demand actors at the moment since he made his major breakthrough with TV series Game of Thrones - recently he has been splitting his time between working on the hits show and a series of film projects.

And while he may be having huge successes professionally and admits that being an actor and juggling a relationship can be tough, revealing that he is currently single.

Speaking to GQ magazine, the actor said: "I'll never talk about any particular relationship I've been in. But I will say I'm single at the moment.

"Relationships as an actor are incredibly difficult. With someone who's not an actor, because they never get to see you; and with someone who is an actor, because you're ships in the night a lot of the time."

Game of Thrones is set to return to the small screen next year, and will see Harington return to the popular character of Jon Snow, who experienced some heartache of his own in the last season.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 and Pompeii have been the big film projects for the actor in 2014, and we are going to be seeing more of his on the big screen into next year. The actor has already completed work on Seventh Son and Spooks: the Greater Good.

However, the movie that we are really looking forward to here at FemaleFirst is Testament of Youth, which was met with great reviews earlier this autumn when it played at the BFI London Film Festival.

The movie is based on the war memoir of Vera Brittain, and sees Alicia Vikander, Hayley Atwell, Dominic West, Emily Watson, and Miranda Richardson all set to star. James Kent is in the director’s chair.

And while Harington is having all of this success, he admits that he will have to sacrifice something unless he finds someone who is willing to do all of the travelling with him.

He continued: "I mean, ideally, if you keep acting in the film world, you're a travelling salesman. And your options are: sacrifice a lot of your career, to make sure it's not unfair on the other person, or find someone who is willing to be your travelling circus. That's where I stand, and I'm trying to address it at the moment."

Testament of Youth is released 16th January 2015.
