The 39-year-old actress' world was rocked when her boyfriend was shot dead in March 2019, aged just 33, and on the painful day she vowed to love him forever.

She captioned a snap of the rapper on Instagram: "If you know me You know March is always tough for me 31 days of holding my breath. This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024 Interesting…. considering your name #GodWillRise. (sic)"

She concluded: "Energy never dies…. I love you. Eternal."

The 'You People' star also posted a clip of an old interview with the 'Blue Laces' rapper and added: "Always Remember I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine. Long Live Nip Hussle The Great!!!! (sic)"

Lauren - the mother of his seven-year-old son, Kross - is still coming to terms with his death and admitted last year she was still "not at peace" with his passing.

She told E! News: "It's something that will continue forever. Healing is not like a straight arrow: it goes up and down, so I don't think that I am done with anything."

Lauren previously admitted that Nipsey's death changed how she approaches her career.

She said: "Moving forward in my life, I kind of don't want to do anything that I can't really truthfully contribute."

Despite this, Lauren was always determined to return to her acting work and is eager to set a good example for her kids.

Lauren - who also has Kameron, 14, with 41-year-old rap star Lil Wayne - said: "We can't stop, you know? We do have a purpose, all of us, and it's important for my sons to see me moving forward with grief, not just curling up in a ball, because I curled up in a ball for a long time.

"But especially for my eldest son because he's just a little more aware."

Lauren believes that Nipsey would've supported her acting return, too.

She shared: "We will continue moving on as we had to, as he would want us to."
