The former Eternal singer - who is partnered with professional dancer Kevin Clifton on the show - had wanted to enlist her spouse in her training but he was "useless" and worried he'd leave her injured.

She said: "He's useless. I tried a bit of rumba. He said he can't do it and was worried he would injure me.

"He hates dancing. When we go out and I try to get him to dance, he'll hold me for two seconds and then say he's going to get a drink."

However, it seems Jamie has learned a few things from attending training with his wife.

Kevin told OK! magazine: "One day he turned to me and said, 'Kevin, would you say it's the arms that give the dance its flow?' I was like, 'Yes Jamie!' "

The 41-year-old singer admitted she is feeling "pressure" to do well in the competition because Kevin and his celebrity partners have all made it to the final in previous series.

She admitted: "It makes me feel under so much pressure."

However, Louise and Kevin won't be too upset if they don't make the final as the standard of the competition is so high this year.

She added: "But this year everybody is really good so I reckon if you get half way, it's the equivalent of a final any other year."

Kevin said: "It's too early to start thinking about the final. The bar has been raised so high this year."

And among their strongest competition is Kevin's sister, Joanne Clifton, and her celebrity partner Ore Oduba.

Kevin said: "She's on fire, it's very annoying. I'm really proud of her.

"I think she has a renewed sense of determination and is bringing out her best work. But don't tell too many people I said that."
